Just got a letter today from my congressman. It's disappointing...

Disappointing?! It's another load of horseshit!  He might have just as well said,
"while I think it's kind of important for Sean Goldman and other abducted kids to be reunited with their parents, maybe, sort of....I think doing business with Brazil is way more important, because, you know, that's what we're about here in the U.S. Congress, business"   "And, by the way, I really really want Sean to come home, honest,  but asking me to co-sponsor these bills is just...well, that's asking too much".

You MUST reply with a killer snail mail letter. And send it to the editor of whatever newspaper covers your area along with his letter to you. He does not realize what he has just brought down upon himself, methinks.

You might also include when you write back that it wasn't until Lautenberg put a hold on the trade bill that we saw anything even closely resembling a sense of urgency from Brazil.

This response is totally unacceptable! I agree with the other individual who posted...send off a very good reply and copy the media.

Unfortunately, I don't think our friend Rodney thinks urgency is needed here. Getting re-elected I think he'll understand. Putting yourself on the wrong side of the David Goldman case in New Jersey right now does not seem politically expedient. And I would bet that we see David involved somewhere in the bigger issue once he and Sean get settled back home.  Rodney's going to have some 'splainin' to do.

Chuckles & Caldwell,

remember when I said how hard it was to get an appointment with him and that I could never get past his scheduler Michelle in the office? I think he doesn't want anything to do with this and instructs his staff to push us aside. I don't know if the re-election threat will work (I had mentioned that before to Michelle). He does not seem to care about that either.

Some other of his constituents and I are working on getting a fiery letter out to him.

Audax...I have had good success calling them and letting them know their empathy and constituant communication is "underwhelming and offensive". Then letting them know that "everyone on my MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking avenues are all wondering why you don't care about American Children or their concerns"....Then let them know that about 300 of them are his constituants and you will be updating them AGAIN after this call............

It's a hard appraoch and only use it if your guy isn't responding....which it seems he isn't..........

Lastly - David, there are many prayers across the world going out for you and Sean. When I got my son home - regardless of all the attempts of parental alienation that were forced on him - he said "Father, I always knew you loved me." I am certain Sean feels the same way.

Is there going to be more template letters and information on contacts to target besides my congressman who has been no help for HR 3240.

I want to help but need help with new information for the other Left Behind Parents and sample letters to us for LBP campaign.

Thank you,

Margie

I want to start some writing letters as well and will look forward to this information as I have no idea where to start, what to say, etc. I've been following David's fight and hope to help bring others home and getting the bill passed.

I plan to re-work the presentation book we have used, now focusing on the impact of the threat of economic consequences resulting from Lautenberg's  hold on the trade bill. There is some serious public opinion momentum that we should leverage. And the other new focus will be the thousands of other cases languishing somewhere in neverland.  Off from work until the New Year, will try to work on this next week.

I know at one point we had a form letter to use as an example of what we should write to our reps.  I can't find one and can't find the one I drafted to Rep. Andrews in NJ.  Can anyone send me a link or form?
