So aside from calling, I also send emails from my home to the Department of State. I get a reply today thanking me for my inquiry - about my concern for the residents of Haiti.
Don't get me wrong, I am concerned. I make my donations and hope that aid will be given to all those in need.
HOWEVER, THAT WAS NOT WHAT MY EMAIL WAS ABOUT! I'll stick with the phone calls and letters. Emails I think go into oblivion.

I got the same autoresponse re: Haiti. I agree..phone calls and letters are the better option.

I will call myself and have my friends call. I just get the runaround with the Children's Issue Office in D.C. and the U.S. Embassy-Kuwait. There was supposed to be a welfare/whereabouts visit conducted for my daughter on this past Tuesday, but haven't gotten a report that the visit took place and the Case Officer is off this week

I called the number the last number listed on the who to call list, and the person who answered the phone was very gracious and said the letter is still in the draft stages

Called Massa today, although he wasn't in, to thank him for co-sponsoring but also to see what he would do to bring other NY Reps on board to supporting the bill. The person answering the phone took down all the information but I will follow up with another call tomorrow as well as phoning the WH and SOS. Will start sending to more newspapers this weekend when I have some time. My local paper did print my letter in today's issue. Pam
