I have always felt that perhaps JPLS and the Bianchis were not as wealthy as everyone thinks they are and thus an opportunity to make money surfaced.

I sooo agree with your statement. The rich in Brazil if they own a restaurant they are not the cook.  They don't live with their in-laws, only the middle class and the poor. If they are rich they buy their kids a place to live if the kids can't afford a place of their own like JPLS apparently can't.
Did you see Sean's bedroom? If one can call THAT a bedroom! I have seen rich in Rio and that is not it. They were just well connected that is it. Like the couple that made their way into the White House without an invitation. But hey.... Sean will inherit 25% of Bruna's/JPLS estate so soon enough David will know how rich they really are.

Good point! I never thought of that..Sean will inherit some of Bruna's estate. I just hope JPLS doesn't "steal " his portion. I just don't trust JPLS and would put that past him... especially now that he's angry that he's lost Sean.

And since Bruna and David were still married in the US, never legally divorced, wouldn't he inherit what Bruna had?

Are you asking about what she had in Brazil or the US?
In Brazil after the death of a parent, 50% of the entire estate goes to the husband and 50% is divided between the children. So... Sean get's 25% and the girl his 1/2 sister, will get 25%. That is one of the laws in Brazil that does work. One can not disinherit an offspring in Brasil unless it can be proven that the offspring abused the parent. That is to protect the elderly from their adult children.
In the US absent a will everything goes to the surviving spouse.

I was wondering if the divorce was even legal.. since David said he didn't even know about it nor was he present to sign off on anything. That's probably why JPLS wanted to keep Sean in Brazil and take David's name off Sean's parentage. He knew Sean would get the money and the divorce wasn't legal and David would be entitled to some of Bruna's money. JPLS is a bigger scumbag than I thought! he's about money and not about Sean! I'm so glad Sean is now with David!

You make a very valid point! I never had any doubt in my mind that the reason they wanted Sean so badly was for the money.

 I do not know about the divorce issue because I have never been divorced or know anyone in a similar  situation. I do know about the inheritance laws in Brazil because my Brazilian father passed away, my husband and children are american and I had to deal with the situation.

I agree with you that the Bianchi's and JPLS are not as wealthy as people seems to think. They just have the political connections but as far as wealth is concerned, I think it's equivalent to upper middle class here. I think there is a different standard between the US and Brazil. They're no royals in Brazil, and I think that's why the Bianchi's and JPLS are more about money than David is.  But that's just my opinion.

David probably has no right in the inheritance of Bruna....Bruna's money was/is in Brazil and in Brazil she was not married to David, only JP. It does not matter if Sean is in Brazil with JP or no. Brazil recognizes only JP as her husband,so a part of the inheritance is his.
