Mônica Bergamo: Grandparents Sean hearing will ask the U.S. for visits to the boy

DE SAO PAULO

Was scheduled for Aug. 31 hearing of the boy's grandparents Sean Goldman in the United States in action in asking the right to visit her grandson. The information is Mônica Bergamo column published in the Wednesday edition of the Folha (the full column is available to subscribers of the newspaper and UOL).

Brazilian family can talk with Sean after 101 days

Since he was handed over to an American father, David Goldman, in late 2009 by a decision of the Brazilian courts, the couple can not see the child. Last month, the boy's maternal grandmother, Silvana Bianchi, said he spoke by phone with his grandson at day 11 and June 22. On occasion, he spoke only in English.

The child is the target of a lawsuit that led to her move to the United States six months ago. Since he moved with his father in December 2009, Sean talked six times with the Brazilian family, always by telephone. The last conversation lasted 16 minutes, according to Silvana.

Sean lived with his parents, Michelle and David, the United States. Bruna in 2004, daughter of Silvana, brought her son to Brazil with his father's permission, but decided not to return. With the death of Bruno, during delivery of the second daughter in 2008, Sean's stepfather, João Paulo Lins e Silva, David started to play with the custody of the boy. On December 24, by court order, Sean was given to the father, who lives in the USA.

I'm wondering the same thing.  You know whatever it is that it's not good.  They will just not let it go.  I guess you can call it desperate.  Well Sean has been with his father and family in NJ for the past 7 months and I'm sure everything is going well.  He's probably very well aware of all the garbage that went on in the past.  Here's hoping that all their nonsense is all a lot of hot air.  Continue to keep them in my prayers.

There is nothing they can do.  If they won't except supervised visits as suggested, (I'm assuming) by a psychologist, then too bad.  I think they would be lucky to get supervised visits, given what they have done.  It just shows that David is trying to be a better person and they don't care about anything but themselves.  Awful people.

Even after all this time that line never ceases to disgust me.

And they hope to gain some kind of sympathy for their "cause."  Good luck with that.  If they REALLY wanted to see Sean and REALLY cared about him, they would do what ever David said for as long as it took for him to trust them again (perhaps by the time Sean turns 18!).  They would speak English, they would meet with psychologists, they would allow supervision, they would wait six months -- what ever provisions David asked for.  The truth is they want it their way just like they always have, and can't understand where and how they lost control.

But, fortunately, they don't have any kind of sympathy in Brazil!

I don't think we need to worry too much about this.  It sucks that she keeps pursuing her case in the US, which means more hardship for David, but she really has no hope of getting what she wants.

David has already stated how visitation would be allowed, and his request is reasonable, fair and in the best interests of Sean.

I hope the judge does his homework meticulously and throws Nonna and her entourage's butts out the door.  If he needs any help, there are many here on BSH to offer it I am sure.  Doesn't she have anything better to do in life but keep unscrupulous lawyers afloat and being an incessant nusance?  She had Sean for 5 1/2 years (illegally I might add).  Now leave him in peace and happy with his father.  Go bother JPLS!

It is time that someone in GLOBO gets the story correct... it was NOT with David's permission!! Is this still something they intend to see happen (Cruella and gang)? What a troubles family they are! Thank the Lord that Sean is out of there and home with HIS FATHER!!!!!!!!!!
