I got the following reply from my FB from Congressman LoBiondo from NJ:

Thanks Kinni for bringing this to my attention. I reached out to Congressman Smith and will be cosponsoring his bill again this Congress. Thanks again, Frank

 :yeahthat

Great, I hope we get 36 more of those same responses, plus a long list of new co-sponsors.

Agreed! My goal is to get all the co-sponsors of HR 3240 back on board again with HR 1940 first...

I haven't heard back from the 5 that I've contacted but I'm just getting started. :) We're going to do it this time. I can feel it!!!!!!

We've got two co-sponsors

Rep West, Allen B. [FL-22] - 6/2/2011
Rep Wolf, Frank R. [VA-10] - 5/23/2011

Did you know that aside from Congressman Smith, Wolf is the only other congressman to sign his name to 1940, 3240, 2702, 1326 and 125?

He can't make decisions without his wife being in town.  Didn't you get the memo :biggrin

Sent a tweet to @RepAndrews in NJ, along with an email and letter.  He did not get on board with HR3240, so we'll see.

I'm not sure if anyone has the time to help with this project, but let's identify the Representatives for the LBPs whose cases are listed in the BSHF International Child Abduction sub-forums.

http://bringseanhome.org/forums/index.php/board,13.0.html

They should be priorities and perhaps BSHF can draft a letter to each of them asking for their co-sponsorship in addition to having supporters contact them directly.

Good idea, Lukie!  I will start working on the list of the LBPs that are listed in the ICA sub-forums.

My Congressman (Steve Southerland, R-FL, District 2) hasn't responded to my communication; he's too busy worrying about gas prices (which I also appreciate). I'll keep trying though.  BTW, he doesn't have any LBP's in his district, but he does have an abducted child living in his district -- Karl Hindle's daughter, Emily.
"Every parent who has a child and they tuck him in at night, or her in at night, and they wish the best and only the best and they will always protect the child and do whatever they can, but most of the time they don't have to prove it. I'm in the proving grounds, to myself and to my child.  I have to get him home and I will do whatever I have to. I'll never stop to save him."  --David Goldman
