This is all great stuff, I wish I had known this when I started 3 years ago.

Yes, it's amazing how much critical information is routinely not given to parents by agencies like the US Department of State...

It's almost as though they are intentionally setting American parents up for failure or something  ;)

Don't get me started on conspiracy theories...Never paid much attention to them till I met the US Dept of State fake face agenda. I just cant understand the why and how... why the countries would want to keep abducting parents and why our country is so willing to let them keep them... and HOW do they keep getting away with such a horrific thing  right in front of the public eye? I truly think it has to do with the other countries lack of young work force though.

Behind this smile is something only we LBP understand.

I think you'll like this book:

From the Wikipedia article on International child abduction in Mexico:

Dangerous DiplomacyJoel Mowbray, the journalist credited with exposing the still-running "Visa Express" program of the US State Department long after it allowed the entry of at least 15 of the 18 hijackers of September 11, 2001, wrote the book Dangerous Diplomacy on the role and culture of the US State Department. Mowbray's second chapter in Dangerous Diplomacy, titled "Cold Shoulder: State's Smallest Victim's", is dedicated to an analysis of the assistance provided to American parents left in the wake of an international child abduction. It describes State's overriding desire to appease foreign governments and maintain "good relations" as having a conflict of interest between their responsibility to internationally abducted children as the designated United States Central Authority under the Hague Convention. This inherent conflict of interest between the two roles is magnified by what the book defines as the "culture of state", a culture characterized by extreme moral relativism, valuing process over substance and misplaced priorities that reward failures by promotions or high paying jobs "consulting" for the foreign government of the country that they'd previously been paid to advocate America's interests in.[48]

ok I am supposed to plan on being in Colombia in mid june-mid july. Are there any other parents with ongoing cases in Colombia? I wanted to ask, does this or any other organization hold a conference ever? It would be great to get a gathering of past and present LBPs and have workshops for the infinite number of issues you are never aware of until this happens.

Are you planning to attend the OCI Open House next week (May 16) in Washington DC? If not, you should go. It will be a good chance to meet some other parents with abducted children, if nothing more.

I would love to go, and I hope someone is representing BSH and the rest of us. Unfortunately I cant attend. Someone please take notes or feel free to conference call me in, I would love to see a streaming broadcast or audio broadcast of the meeting and its discussions. I think it is a great step towards promoting more dialogue and national visibility.

2 months shy of 3 years my son was abducted and Broward County Sheriffs Office officially deemed my son a missing person today! I have had one Deputy tell me that there was nothing that could be done and suggested I "ggole" my sons whereabouts, I had another deputy tell me my son was not missing, he is just with his mother, I was speechless. Even with a court order to immediately place my son into my custody, still nobody wanted to file the report. In the end my lawyer had to pin them down and managed to catch them on a good day. Huge Thank you to Cecile!!!!

JacobsFather,
I am MelissaFather, I am trying to get my daughter back from Colombia too. I file the Hague convention and the officer assigned was Slusher too. As today Slusher is not longer with the abduction Unit. Now I am trying to get the congressman and senate to help me as I am trying to contact Hillary Clinton too.
I am located in Florida too.
