Omar and Nadia are stuck in Sudan after nearly five years
« on: May 11, 2012, 09:13:50 PM »
now nearly 17 and 12, they have been stuck in Khartoum for nearly 5 years. I did not know where they were until my son called me nearly 2 years after the abduction on my cell phone.  In the beginning our embassy person, Chaz, was quite instrumental in getting lines of communication open and continuously exploring ways to help my children.  When his time at the embassy was up, all help at the embassy stopped.  I enlisted the assistance of a lawyer to retrieve my children (after several refused my case due to conflict of interests, it seems everyone is related to him over there), but his help stopped once I was finally allowed to see them once. "be happy" was all he said.

I have met people in my travels that "feel bad" for our situation, but nobody that can provide any real help.

Anybody with experience here?
