Affidavit for Hague Trial

I'm preparing written affidavits to have as evidence should my case make it to the Brazilian courts any time in the near future.
 
Does anyone know if this is helpful or sustainable evidence in a trial? If so, when and how is it presented, will it need to be translated into portuguese?

I would need to know what they were affidavits of before answering the first part. In answer to the second part, anything presented in court in Brazil must be translated into Portuguese. Brazilian law is somewhat different from ours in that the vast majority of a case is presented in writing rather than orally as in the U.S.

Need a Brazilian attorney to answer this, but in Mexico, written statements that are signed before and notarized by a US notary make for good toilet paper.

Once again qualifying that a Brazilian attorney should confirm this, what you may be able to do is have affidavits notarized by the Brazilian Embassy or have witnesses give testimony before a Brazilian Consul here in the US, though it will likely be difficult to submit any sort of affidavit into evidence if the other side's attorney can't cross exam the witness.   Best bet is to get passports for your witnesses and fly 'em into Brazil or get the police or fbi to take statements from people so that you can submit those statements as "public government documents".
